THE STORY
Shikon is a traditional herb that has been used in both Japan and China for centuries.
In Japan, it was often used in traditional ointments and skincare preparations.
The root contains a natural pigment called shikonin, which is known for helping calm the skin and support healthy looking skin.
To bring this traditional ingredient into soap, shikon root is slowly infused into oil before being used in the recipe.
THE PROCESS
The infused oil has a beautiful red color when the shikon root is first extracted.
During the soap making process, it reacts naturally with the alkaline environment and transforms into a soft violet tone.
This gentle chemical change is part of what makes shikon soap unique.
Hatomugi, also known as Job’s tears, is a traditional Japanese skincare ingredient that has long been used to help keep the skin smooth and clear.
In this soap it is incorporated using a method developed for this recipe so that more of the ingredient can be carried into the bar.
THE SCENT
The essential oil blend is chosen with skin care in mind.
Frankincense, palmarosa, geranium, and benzoin are combined to support calm and healthy looking skin.
The scent is soft, elegant, and slightly warm.
THE SKIN FEEL
The lather feels smooth and gentle on the skin while cleansing away impurities.
Hatomugi is known in Japanese skincare for helping keep the skin smooth and clear.
This soap is comfortable to use on both the face and body.
It was created with traditional Japanese skincare in mind and works well as part of a daily routine for soft, healthy, naturally radiant skin.

We use plants and natural products when crafting our soap and bath salts, such as coffee powder, cacao, honey etc. Essential oil hcan have varying effects, so if you have allergies, are pregnant, or are undergoing treatment, please consult your doctor before using.
All of our soaps are handmade, cut and measuring individually. Although we make each item with care, please note that the size, weight, design, and colour may slightly vary.
Cold processed soap can become soft when stored in a humid place. After use, please store in a place that allows it to dry, such as a drained soap dish.
